A true oasis in the heart of the city, The Merrion offers a tucked-away terrace, which is now open for the summer season. The menu includes a platter of local Kelly oysters, prawns and crab; lobster roll paired with Champagne; and Irish beef fillet tartare with quail egg and truffle mayonnaise. Also available to guests is a Garden Room Picnic package, which includes: homemade lemonade; Burren Smokehouse salmon on blinis with dill crème fraiche; and desserts of Eton Mess and Mississippi Mud Pie.

Later this summer, guests can experience The Merrion Plinth 2024, the hotel's biennial Contemporary Art award aimed to support artists who reside in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK. The Merrion, which possesses an incredible art collection of late 19th- and early 20th-century art, aims to support new talent and great artwork through this award, which has been held since 2019.

Around Dublin, there is plenty to do and see this summer, including Riverdance at the Gaiety, running from June 5 to September 8, 2024; Bloomsday Festival 2024 in celebration of James Joyce from June 11-16, 2024; and the Dublin International Chamber Music from June 4-9, 2024, featuring world-class performances in incredible settings such as botanic gardens and historic homes across the city.
