2024 Tourism to Türkiye Breaking All-Time Records

New York - November 5, 2024: A total of 49.2 million tourists vacationed in Türkiye in the first nine months of 2024, a 9% increase over the same period in 2023, it was announced last week in Istanbul by the Hon. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The number of Americans visiting Türkiye in the first three quarters of 2024 increased by an even larger percentage – 10.3% - with more than 1.1 million visitors from the United States


RECORD TOURISM IN EUROPE'S LARGEST CITY

During the first nine months of 2024, some 14 million tourists visited Istanbul, Europe's largest city; and the Turkish Mediterranean resort of Antalya hosted 13.3 million vacationers. Later this month, the Society of American Travel Writers will hold its annual convention in Istanbul, an event sponsored by Türkiye's Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Close to 300 delegates will meet in Istanbul, and tour several of the country's prime tourism destinations, including Izmir, the Turkaegean coast, Cappadocia and more.
