New York – June 30, 2025: The management of Israel's Dan Hotels has announced the appointment of Matan Lerner as the new General Manager of Jerusalem's King David Hotel, the group's legendary flagship property that opened its doors in 1930. Ever since its opening, The King David Hotel has been regarded not only as the leading luxury hotel in Israel, but as the Jerusalem home-away-from-home of the world's royalty, presidents, prime ministers, celebrities and diplomats.

Lerner previously served as general manager of both the Dan Caesarea and Dan Accadia resorts on Israel's Mediterranean shore, overseeing their impressive renovation and upgrading, assuring their continued profile as Israel's premier Mediterranean resorts. He joined Dan Hotels in 2019 after managing Tel Aviv's Montefiore Hotel, Israel's first luxury boutique hotel. He will assume his new role in Jerusalem on July 1st with the intention of steering the growth and ongoing enhancement of Israel's grandest hotel as it nears its centenary in 2030.

Lerner replaces Tamir Kobrin, who joined the King David in 2020 and is taking up a management position in Italy. Kobrin successfully guided the hotel through the strains of the pandemic, and hosted countless world leaders and celebrities, including former US President Joe Biden and the presidents of Germany and Argentina. Kobrin led the hotel's culinary team to new heights, overseeing the rebirth of the King David's classic “Grill Room,” resulting in reviews praising the restaurant's innovation and excellence.

“One of my goals in taking over the management of the King David Hotel,” says Lerner, “is to concentrate on appreciating and valuing our loyal guests, as well as inspiring visitors who've yet to discover the wonders of Israel's most historic hotel.”

FAREWELL AND WELCOME

Shlomi Tahan, CEO of Dan Hotels, said: “I would like to thank Tamir for his years of work and contribution to the King David Hotel. We wish him every success in his future endeavors.”

“At the same time,” Tahan continued, “I am proud to wish Matan every success as he takes on the important role of leading the chain's flagship hotel. I have every confidence that under Matan's leadership, the King David will reach new heights of excellence and earn many more accolades. And we, in management, are committed to helping him succeed in this critical role.”

MANAGEMENT CHANGES IN TEL AVIV, HERZLIYA AND CAESAREA

The Dan Caesarea Resort is promoting hotel manager Eliran Dar as its new General Manager. Ilan Ben Hakon will leave his position of General Manager at the Dan Tel Aviv and Link Hotel & Hub, to take up the role of General Manager of the Dan Accadia Resort in Herzliya. Ben Yanover, currently managing the Dan Hotels in the Haifa and Nazareth areas, will become General Manager of the beachfront flagship Dan Tel Aviv. Replacing Yanover in northern Israel will be Yaniv Shavit, who has approximately 20 years of experience in the hotel industry, initially serving as Deputy Food and Beverage Manager at the Dan Tel Aviv Hotel and VP of Food and Beverage at the Dan Caesarea Resort.

Tahan continued: “We are investing heavily in the chain's management skills and are proud to promote our talented managers who have grown and flourished within the Dan Hotels family. I am confident that they will continue to move the company forward and I wish everyone success in their new roles.”
