New York – August 21, 2025: Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, the iconic luxury hotel located just opposite Berlin's Brandenburg Gate, has announced the opening of a new gourmet ice cream shop in the hotel's lobby shopping arcade, in partnership with the renowned Berlin-based ice cream maker Eis Engelchen.

Set to open this coming Saturday, August 23, the Adlon's new sweet spot will offer a choice of up to 24 unique ice cream flavors from Eis Engelchen, from fresh fruit sorbets and classic ice cream flavors like vanilla and chocolate, to such unique confections as: Omas Teigschüssel (or “Grandma's mixing bowl”), filled with juicy pieces of batter, marzipan ice cream with poppy seeds and real marzipan pieces; and Gorgonzola Ice Cream with Caramelized Walnuts and Figs. And soon, guests will have the chance to sample a signature new ice cream flavor developed by the Adlon's head pastry chef Steffen Holle, the Adlon Praline Ice Cream – made of roasted pecans, Dulcey toffee salted caramel and brownie pieces. Scoops are served in large homemade waffle cones or in cups, with a wide variety of signature toppings available to choose from.

“We were keen to win Eis Engelchen for this fantastic partnership, as we are very familiar with the high-quality product range and constantly evolving flavor explosions of this long-standing supplier to our hotel,” says Karina Ansos, managing hotel director of the Hotel Adlon.

The ice cream shop will also offer soft serve varieties and one of Germany's largest milkshake selections topped with warm, soft Berlin pancakes with individually customizable fillings – including a choice of nine different fruity, chocolatey, creamy or crunchy flavor components or any of the 24 ice cream flavors on offer. And in a typically lavish Adlon flourish, guests can also splurge for a pancake decorated with shiny, wafer-thin edible gold leaf, served with a piccolo bottle of Champagne.

The ice cream shop at the Hotel Adlon will be open year-round, from 11am to 8pm daily. In summer, the offering will focus on ice cream, while in the cooler months, a smaller selection of ice cream will be complemented by Kaiserschmarrn (a classic Austrian and German sweet pancake dessert) topped with homemade fruit compotes.
